Stop and Listen will stop you in your tracks. It’s…well, it’s real. At the most basic level, it’s a lament for those who die young, but it’s also defiantly acoustic, wood-grained, National Resonator music. If you want to hear how to overuse reverb effects correctly in order to place a part in the listener’s brain, dig the slide guitar solo. But the vocals are pristine and perfect. Never heard of Blackie & The Rodeo Kings before, but I’ll be watching for them now.

Will Of The People is the title track of the new Muse album and it rocks hard. It’s a direct descendant of Revolution and Won’t Get Fooled Again, while maintaining that special Muse vibe. I love the guitar sounds on this.

Some day you will people will discover emerger. I keep telling you they’re great. Tangerine Sky establishes them as the Spanky & Our Gang of the 2020s. “Send me into a spin with your cinnamon skin/And maraschino cherry lips”
